3 Signs That It’s Time To Hire For Your Small Business
So, you’re a small business, but lately you find yourself staying up late to get tasks done, working beyond your “office hours” to make sure you’re meeting the deadlines, skipping meals or other life tasks because you just don’t have time, or worse, not finishing tasks for your clients.
Well, it might just be time for you to hire help. Hiring help can be hiring an employee to work with your team, or to contract work out to a sub-contractor. You can see the pros and cons of each by reading our blog on Why Contract and Not Hire.
Here are three signs that it might be time for you to hire:
1. Struggling with a healthy work-life balance
We know you’re building your business so it makes sense that you’re boss-babeing your way to the top. But, it’s really important that you take a look at how you’re managing the rest of your life too. Are you all work and no play? Are you cancelling personal engagements and commitments so you can get more work done? Is the quality of work you’re outputting dropping because there’s more quantity than quality? Do you feel overwhelmed and overworked? Well, it might just be time to outsource some work out so you can find balance again.
2. You need new skills
Do you have clients asking for the same service or product that you can’t provide? Take a look at your business and ask yourself, why can’t we provide it? If the answer is that you don’t offer that service – can you contract it to someone who does? If the answer is you don’t know how to do that service – can you find someone who does? If there is a skill or technique that your business is currently lacking, it might be time to hire someone who can bring those skills on board!
3. New opportunities on the horizon
Maybe you’re looking at taking a huge leap with your business. Whether it’s a new service, product, course, or other opportunity, you’ll probably need some help. Don’t be afraid to hire it. New opportunities for future hires means your business is growing and heading in the right direction! Accept the opportunity, accept the help, and reach your goals!
We know it can be scary to hire for your small business, especially if you’re hiring for the first time. We know how hard you’ve worked to get exactly where you are. Remember that hiring someone to help means your business is growing and you’re probably smashing your goals. Working with a team can help refresh your mind and soul, take pressure off of you to do it all, generate more revenue, offer new or different skills, and bring in new ideas for your business. You don’t have to keep doing it alone!
